The highlight of the day was unveiling of Dr Ambedkar’s portrait at Gray’s Inn where he was called to the bar in 1922 and completed his Bar at-Law degree. Gray’s Inn is a premier institution of law in the World where Dr Ambedkar is honored by displaying unveiling his portrait. This project was commissioned by the Government of India and the artist, Hazel Morgan was entrusted to make the portrait. It is a matter of pride for all of us that Dr Ambedkar is the only Indian who found a place in the room. Rest are all British.

What Jeremy Corbyn, leader of Labour Party (UK) said about Dalits

In 2012, Mr Corbyn told parliament –

Dalits are the largest group of people in the world who are systematically discriminated against on the basis of their descent and caste. They perform the worst jobs in the dirtiest conditions, and have the shortest life expectancy, the lowest level of education, the worst housing and the lowest pay and employment levels of any group in India, or indeed, the rest of the world.

In Bedford, UK – The first road outside India named after Shri Guru Ravidass Ji

This is perhaps the first road outside India named after Shri Guru Ravidass Ji. This road is leading to Shri Guru Ravidass Bhavan (worshiping place) in Bedford, UK. The dispute between the Guru Ravidass Community Center and the local council was resolved last week. Congratulations to the community leaders who successfully campaigned for the ownership of the road.
