Reality of Gudi Padwa, festival of upper castes’ exploitation of lower castes women

On first or second Saturday coming after the Hindu New Years Day (Gudhi padawa), the devadasis, who are mostly dalitbahujans, were openly sexually enjoyed in public, about hundred years ago. This is now replaced by another tradition called “Okali”, which was in vogue till 1987. It is a festival like ‘Rang Panchami’. The young boys from higher castes assemble around a pool of coloured water in front of town temple. Young devadasis in the town stand in front of them in a row, and each receives a sari, a choli and a flower garland. The coloured water is poured over the devadasis who appear virtually naked as the cloths given to them are very thin, scanty, delicate and transparent. The boys play with the bodies of devadasis as they like, doing everything just short of sexual intercourse. All assembled enjoy the scene. This happens in the name of god ‘Bili Kallappa’. Pledge – Say No To Hindu Temples!

Did you know?

Brahmins in India have 100% reservation in temples, where they earn in billions every year and most of that money is spent on anti-Dalit, anti-Muslim and anti-minority activities.

First, even after 100% reservation in temples, where there is so much money, Brahmins hate Dalit-Bahujans and hate representation of Dalit-Bahujans in every field. Why?

Secondly, we must stop going to Hindu temples and stop donating there as most of it is used against us only, so no wise person will go and donate there.

Say No To Hindu Temples

Say No To Hindu Temples

Apart from all these, almost every day Dalits are stopped from entering the temples, many Dalits are boycotted, killed just because some so called upper castes hate them. Let’s take pledge that we won’t go to Hindu religious places that discriminate and that don’t treat human as a human. Are you ready for it? Pledge and let me know in the comments. It is a time to “Say No to Hindu Temples”.

Why aren’t the hindus offended?

Casteism is a backbone of the hindu religion. Hinduism is full of discrimination, casteism and degradation, without all of these there is no hindu religion. Recently, the so called hindus forced Penguin India publishing house to withdraw The Hindu – An Alternative History book by Wendy Doniger on the argument that this book offend hindus. Hindus had earlier defended Salman Rushdie’s book Satanic Verses in the name of ‘freedom of expression’ and ‘freedom of speech’ or what not but didn’t accept the book by Wendy on the same logic! Ironic but true face of Hinduism and so called hindus. Here, in this post, I want to ask, why so called hindus are not offended when so many atrocities happen on Dalits in day to day life? According to a UN report, approximately 110,000 cases of violent acts committed against Dalits were reported in 2005.

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit kids are forced to do toilet cleaning work at schools?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit students are purified by sprinkling cow urine on them in schools?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit women are seen and treated as only sex objects?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit people are killed just because they had same name as some upper caste people had?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit homes are separated by building walls in villages?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits have to remove their shoes while passing in front of upper caste homes?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit students’ scholarships aren’t issued on time?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit homes are burnt daily, just because they are Dalit?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when food cooked by Dalit women isn’t accepted by so called upper caste students?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit kids are made to sit separately in schools?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit women are paraded naked, raped and forced to commit suicide?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits are offered menial jobs and exploited at workplaces?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit students seats at colleges are filled by upper castes having fake Dalit certificates?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit students seats in colleges are left unfilled?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits are not allowed to enter temples?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when there are separate barber shops for Dalits?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits have to sip tea from separate tea cups?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when there appear caste wise columns in matrimonial pages?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits have to wait for years to get justice in courts?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits are shown as degraded characters in movies?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits have separate office timings?

Why aren’t the hindus offended whenin Dalit home there is no postal delivery, just because upper caste Postman don’t want to go there?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits and Muslims are denied renting homes, even in metro cities?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit and Muslim are kept in jails for years without any crime?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when their own shankracharyas are caught for the involvement in rapes, murders and killings?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when they see there are still thousands of devidasis (temple prostitutes) in India?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits are forced to work as manual scavengers?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when statues of Dalit leaders are maligned or destroyed?

Why didn’t the hindus get offend when 21 Dalits were slaughtered by the Ranvir Sena in Bathani Tola, Bhojpur in Bihar?

Why didn’t the hindus get offend when Kherlanji massacre happened?

Why didn’t the hindus get offend when Melavalavn massacre, TN, happened? 6 Dalits were killed by so called upper caste people?

Why didn’t the hindus get offend when 16 Dalits were killed in Muthanya incident, Kerala?

Why didn’t the hindus get offend when 58 innocent Dalits were killed at Laxmanpur Bathe, Bihar?

Why didn’t the hindus get offend when Bant Singh case of Punjab happened?

Why didn’t the hindus get offend when 42 innocent Dalits were killed in Kilvenmani massacre, TN, by the gang of upper caste landlords?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits are boycotted in villages?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits change their names/surnames to escape caste discrimination?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalit kids are forced to play in separate play grounds?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when job openings come with – ‘Dalits need not to apply’?

Why aren’t the hindus offended when Dalits can’t buy flats in a colony n ads come – ‘only for Brahmins’?

The Game of Destiny – Business of Future Telling

You wake up each day, turn on the T.V. and you see many astrologers sitting on almost each and every channel. Every channel claims to be the best at telling your future. Just notice the astrologers; they wear Reebok clothes, Rolex watches, and Ray-Ban spectacles. They have Laptops, Blackberry phones or iPhones with them and they teach you to live simple life! Early in the morning, each and every astrologer with diamond necklace and gold earrings is ready with your plans for today, what you should eat, drink, wear, or do etc. Seems to me as these astrologers want to control your lives or do they already do that?

No matter, you turn to English or Hindi channel these astrologers can be found everywhere. One will find business of astrologers going on all the channels.

Personal consultation – only Rs. 10,000/hour; pooja – only Rs 1 Lakh; solve problem in marriage or love – only Rs 50,000; pass any examination – only Rs. 75,000; go higher in career – only Rs 2 Lakh; talk over phone – only Rs 3,000/hour; etc. Love, marriage, life, property, business, career predictions just a click or call away! All credit cards accepted! Visit with appointment only!

Do all these sound familiar to you?

Apart from all these T.V. channels there are many such websites those claims to tell your future simply and correctly. Try to check some and you will find what is written for you today at different websites is different and completely opposite to each other! Try to listen to some of the astrologers on T.V. and you will find one saying you’re gonna be millionaire today and other saying you’ll lose everything today! One astrologer saying, it’s the best day of your life and other astrologer saying its bad day of your life. Bullshit and complete idiotic stuff they publish and propagate! They don’t even know what is gonna happen in they own life in next second and they tell you about your life! Isn’t it crazy?

One wonders how they get such popularity and how come they come on T.V. each and every day, simple as it is – astrologers pay these T.V. channels for getting time slot on T.V. In return T.V. shows display their websites and phone numbers and astrologers earn money this way. Each astrologer claims to be best and his T.V. show has highest TRP, how can it be possible? There is only one place for ‘The Best’! Why there are so many such future telling shows? Simple, as almost everyone has troubles and problems in life so people turn to all these astrologers and half naked Babas. According to the figures of Television Audience Measurement (TAM) all India viewership of these astrology-shows was around 7crore for the first quarter of 2012 and same rose to around 8.2crore in the first quarter of 2013. (Source – Indian Express Eye, May 12-18, 2013). One can see clearly the huge market for the astrologers to earn money and there is definitely billions in this business!

I believe fortune-telling business is one of the simplest businesses. Peer at grubby palms and deal a few cards. It doesn’t matter what you actually say. Tell people that they will meet handsome devils or inherit money and they’ll pay you handsomely in secrets and pearls. Fortune telling is a lucrative business which if the teller is friendly and occasionally ‘accurate’ can allow the person or people involved to open a business (franchising) which they rarely have to be present at to make huge profit.

There is opposition against the future-telling in Buddhism, Christianity, and Judaism religions. I believe, Hinduism (or Brahmanism) is the only religion that propagate false propaganda and mislead people. When there are many anti-superstitious laws in India, I wonder how can all these Astrologers and many half naked Babas can be on T.V. each and every day. All these future-telling shows or half naked Babas shows must stop and there should be more coverage on the plight of poor people.

Will Sikh Leaders install Hindu Gods in the Golden Temple?

The first step in liquidating a people is to erase its memory. Destroy its books, its culture, its history, Then have somebody write new books, manufacture a new culture, invent a new history. Before long the nation will begin to forget what it is and what it was. The world around it will forget even faster. The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting. – Milan Kundera.

In the month June 2012, the Government of Punjab announced that it will set up a ‘cow memorial‘ at a factory site in Joga town, Mansa District, where recovery of cow carcasses had sparked off riots. And a day after announcing a ‘cow memorial’, the Badal Government further announced it will constitute a ‘cow commission‘  to ‘prevent cruelties against the holy animal’. Mr. Badal even made a visit to the factory where cow slaughter was supposedly taking place and instructed the DGP to look into the cases of cow slaughter with interest and thoroughly. Mr. Badal and his party members didn’t even have the time to pay a visit to the blanket factory at Jalandhar which collapsed in April 2012 and which left more than 10 people dead and 100s badly injured. Not even a single statement came in favor of dead or injured in the one of worst factory accidents of Punjab’s history. Was it because people working at that factory were poor and their lives were not as important as the lives of cows? And recently, when a madman at a Wisconsin Sikh Gurdwara killed 6 people, Mr. Badal, CM of Punjab, decided to visit Wisconsin! Isn’t it strange that when in his home state, thousands Dalits are being tortured and when the crime rate against Dalits is going up day by day, he decided to visit Wisconsin to comfort Sikhs of Wisconsin? Is it because these people living abroad finance him and support his party during the election time and the poor Dalits don’t have as much money to donate? So Dalit voices are left unheard.

All these announcements didn’t come to me as surprise as I know who are working behind all these. For centuries, Hindu fundamentalists have always taken a keen interest in destroying Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism. RSS’s ‘secret agenda‘,  (published by “New Age” weekly of Communist Party, dated 18th-24th June 2000, same was also reproduced by Aajka Surekh Bharat, Nagpur, Oct. 2000, P-44,) shows the same, ‘secret agenda’ in which it was advocated to members that they “teach false history, misguide minority communities, compel them to chant ‘Om’, divide Dalit unity, keep converting Dalits, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists into Hindus etc. There were 34 such points in that ‘secret agenda’, points which were against humanity, mankind & full of hatred. These days, Sikh organizations, Sikh temples etc are hijacked by Hindu fundamentalists and they are running these organizations as they want. Sikh leaders can be seen at Hindu functions, celebrating Hindu festivals, visiting Hindu temples and performing Hindu pujas. How can Dalits, who protected Sikhism at each and every step, trust such Sikh leaders who attend such Hindu functions where Sikhism is being ruined?

Stop trying to be a DOWRY slave

Almost everyone is talking about new T.V. serial ‘Satyamev Jayate’, Aamir Khan and dowry system. Though I have not seen a single episode of this serial but I think I am somehow connected with the discussions because my parents are worried about my marriage and are searching a ‘perfect match’. Few weeks ago; I and my friend, Ravi, were talking about the marriage and why shouldn’t we? Everyone is getting married; many of my and his college friends got married and even produced offspring! My friend seemed quite worried as he was ‘turning 30’ within weeks and was still unmarried. We were discussing, teasing and chuckling over all the aspects of marriage, yes all the aspects, if you get me right. While discussing we reached to a point where ‘dowry’ came to picture.

dowry

“On my marriage, I will never ask for dowry or even a single paisa.” I only need a good girl, who can understand me. I said to my friend.

“Yes, then you will never get married. Why don’t you need money, you are an engineer so you have price tag. If you will not ask for dowry, get your facts right that you will probably not get married.” He nonstop told me a story that one of his engineer friend said to his future parents-in-law that he don’t want a single paise as dowry and his future parents-in-law got suspicious if boy really work as an engineer or not or if something is wrong with the boy? And finally his parents-in-law-to-be broke the marriage.

Further trying to be serious my friend told me that there is no need to demand, there are ways devised since our forefathers to extract money from the girl’s parents. You just need to be up to date and move with the world!

I couldn’t understand the meaning of ‘up to date’ and asked him to let me know how to be up to date and move with the world?

He replied, okay, now suppose you want money and you are not able to ask it directly from the girl’s parents. You don’t even need to say it, you just mention your bank account number few times and give your bank account number, all will be set and her parents will understand! And yes, while giving bank account number don’t forget to say. “Main to Sadhu aadmi hu, paise ko hath nai lagata.” (I am a saint and I don’t touch money!)

Next, before marriage just tells your parents-in-law that if you want that your daughter don’t travel on feet, you know that how hard it is to walk these days in sun, if you want that your daughter don’t travel in crowdy buses, please give car to her. And yes, Maruti is not a good brand these days and has lost its share value, I love General Motors. Don’t forget to mention – I don’t need car and I can do it without it, or I will only be driver for your daughter.

Upcoming Movie: “Shudra – The Rising?”

Now you can watch this movie from here.

I believe till now everyone might have heard about the upcoming movie on Dalits of India, i.e. “Shudra – The Rising?” In case you have missed the news, here is the news! Movie is produced and directed by Sanjiv Jaiswal and movie will be of 120minutes. We all know we can’t express the pain and suffering of Dalits in 2hours movie but still I believe it’s an ideal runtime for a movie and it will be advantageous.

Movie: “Shudra- The Rising?” Poster

A bit of storyline:

Movie is based on story of 250million people born as untouchables (and today’s Dalits) in Hindu caste system and subjected to humiliation and slavery since ancient times. When aryans came to India with the intention of looting, they enslaved the peace loving natives. Manu – Hindu guru – imposed laws on untouchables and barred them from reading, writing and listening holy mantras. Natives were treated less than human, impure, unclean and were forced to do menial jobs.

In the movie you will see, Shudra denied water, (Dalits still fight for such rights) a Shudra child’s nose chopped off for chanting mantras, (Dalits are still not allowed to enter many temples in India), a pregnant Shudra women forced to sleep with upper caste people (Dalit women still are raped on Day to day basis in India) and many more heart touching scenes – the only crime of theirs – they are born untouchables.  Movie seems to be based on real events, if not real I bet, you might have heard such incidents once in a while in your life-time. It is believed that nature took ages to make man out of animal, but it took moments for certain men to make their fellow human animal again. “Shudra – The Rising?” highlights the depth that evil human mind can succumb, to cling on to power and supremacy.

Recently, the “Shudra – The Rising?” team has received screening Invitation for “Shudra – The Rising?” from South Asian Film Festival which will take place June 13-17, 2012, in Vancouver, and in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia, Canada.

My best wishes to the team

I strongly believe that movies on social issues should be made and given more emphasis. Sanjiv Jaiswal has chosen an important issue of caste discrimination, which has ruined millions lives and hopes. After watching trailers of movie, I can say that it’s a sincere effort by the team to put forward the caravan of Dr Ambedkar. I wish the team a grand success!

P.S.: Movie is going to release in Feb. 2012 and you can visit the movie site at http://www.shudrathefilm.com for latest updates. You can also follow producer and director – Sanjiv Jaiswal – on twitter at @sanjivjaiswal and join the facebook page of the movie at http://www.facebook.com/pages/SHUDRA-the-rising/102558246496607
